Jon Skelton, M.D.
Originally from Waco, Texas, Dr. Skelton moved to Lubbock in 1993. He attended Texas Tech where he was a walk-on with the Texas Tech Football Team. After graduating from Tech in 1997 with a degree in Zoology, Dr. Skelton went on to attend the Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine where he received his Medical Degree in 2002. Upon finishing medical school, Dr. Skelton moved to Temple, Texas for his Emergency Medicine Residency Training at Scott and White Hospital. While in Temple, Dr. Skelton served as Chief Resident in his final year of Residency. After his Emergency Medicine Residency, Dr. Skelton and his family moved back to Lubbock.
Dr. Skelton has worked in the Covenant Health System for the past 11 years. He has served in many leadership roles, including serving as Medical Director of Covenant’s Adult and Pediatric Emergency Departments. During his tenure at Covenant, Dr. Skelton was recognized numerous times for his service to the organization. Dr. Skelton will be serving as the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director for STAR ER.
Dr. Skelton, his wife Sarah, and their three children love West Texas and Texas Tech. They enjoy attending Texas Tech sporting events, traveling, movies, and just spending time together.
